(The Parish Council began in 1894. The Council's files contain limited records of names and periods of office of earlier chairmen but so far our files have revealed references to the following Chairmen at the following dates, although their terms of office are not known:
Jesse Hawkes in 1897 and 1904; Bert. W. Kemsley in 1922; R. Carter in 1950; G Morhen in 1954; Frank Twort in 1955 and 1961.
More historical records are kept in the County archives at Maidstone. More research there will be needed in order to fill in the gaps and keep a full record since 1894.)
